What Is The Safest Seat In An Airplane?

By Alison Heath

The safest seat is the airplane is what most anxious airplane passengers would like to know. But there is none. Because accidents can erupt at any spot within the aircraft.

To some people, they think that you're safer if you're seated to an emergency exit. Sadly, that is not absolutely true. A fire can start near the emergency exit as in any place within the plane. If the emergency exit is jammed, then the person sitting nearest to it will be in as much trouble as the person who sits farthest from it.

No matter where the passenger is seated inside the aircraft, being alert and aware of one's surroundings can greatly minimize the risks to one's safety.

Being alert means being watchful and attentive. Take note of the exits' locations. Listen to all pre-flight and in-flight instructions. Do not drink too much. Try not to do anything that will be detrimental to your own safety as that of others like being careless with sharp and pointed objects or spilling hot drinks and always use your common sense. Using common sense is something you should always remember.

Airplane accidents are rare even though air travel is surrounded by fears and misgivings. During a flight, if an accident does occur, the passenger shouldn't panic and should remain calm. Fear is a highly contagious disease. Many casualties in accidents, even those that happened on land, could have been prevented had the panic been contained. So if there's an accident, keep cool and just follow the line.

The safest seat in the plane doesn't exist. But wherever the passenger is seated, they can choose to make their seat the safest one. It's a mind game to create the sense of safety within one's self.
