See The Beaches Of Buzios, Enjoy The Convenience Of Your Luxurious Villa Accommodation

By Giovanni Pilato

Praia da Azeda is among the numerous beaches on the peninsula of Buzios. Regarded as among the most beautiful beaches in the region, it's nevertheless, one of the most difficult beaches to get to. Nevertheless the journey is definitely worth it.

Whilst the majority of people who travel together with their companions from their apartment rental accommodations in Rio de Janeiro, many others come to see the beaches here by way of their cruise ship. Seeing that they wont need accommodations, those coming from rio apartment rentals or luxurious penthouses will be in demand for luxurious rental accommodations including villas or a residential home. Many who come fall in love with it and decide to purchase real-estate property for sale in Buzios, Brazil.

The trip to Praia da Azeda starts at Praia dos Ossos where the tourist can park their rental car. On the right side of the beach is a little sign that reads "Praia da Azeda" with a arrow directed to the right. The hike commences on the road that runs in front of Praia dos Ossos. After trekking up a little slope, there is a fork in the road in which you must keep right along the coast. There are some stone steps which guide down to Praia da Azeda. It is a bit of a trek thus ensure that you pack lightly.

The first thing you observe once you as well as your partners arrive is the wonder of the crystal clear blue ocean. Once you step on the soft white-colored sand, your eyes are without delay attracted to the rocky crags on each side of the beach. A vintage abandon building rests on the beach and had been most likely employed by a port official A hundred years ago. The ocean is reasonably calm and the water is very transparent.

Praia da Azeda is recognized as one of the most perfect and idyllic beaches in Buzios. If you don't mind walking back to the parking lot at night then stay for the sunset as it is rather impressive.

Tips On Purchasing Low Cost Airline Tickets

By Thomas Walters

Low cost airline tickets are always a primary option if you're looking to travel on limited finances. And while it doesn't seem like airline travel could be easy on your wallet, you may be able to save a lot of money when you do your homework.

It helps to understand how airlines determine the prices of their tickets. It's actually pretty complicated, but you don't have to know too much to find good deals. In general, airlines sell a few seats at discounted rates, while others are sold at their actual rates.

This is because airlines are aware that there will always be last minute travelers willing to pay an arm and a leg just to get on the flight. So it helps to do your search for low cost airline tickets in advance.

However, the airlines may also put fares on sale about a month before if they expect slow travel during that time. This guarantees that the airlines' flights will be mostly, if not fully booked even if business is expected to be slow in a certain period.

So if you want low cost airline tickets, it's a good idea not to buy them too early or you may end up spending as much as twice the sale price. If you wait too late, you'll have to pay the full fare. You have the best chance of scoring low cost airline tickets if you book about three weeks to a month in advance.

Another option to consider would be the purchase of one-way tickets. In the past, one-way tickets were generally costlier than round trip tickets. And the practice would usually be to purchase a round trip flight, but not use the return leg - only the first - in order to save money. A lot of people saved money this way. One-way fares, though, are more common these days, and many airlines offer them to customers.

Mixing and matching is another popular tactic used in order to save on airfare. For example, if Southwest Airlines is offering a $49 dollar fare on your departure date, but the return trip is going to be $79, you can check other airlines to see if they have a cheaper return ticket.

And if you shop around, American Airlines, for instance, may offer the return for $64. It always is good to save some money, no matter how little it is. It still beats paying full fare for a last-minute flight, doesn't it? If you mix and match your airlines, this gives you a real chance of getting low cost airline tickets for your next flight.

Plan Your Cruise For Convenience And Fun

By Jewel Chesson

In order to ensure that you have fun and relax on your cruise, it is essential that you plan your cruise meticulously. And enjoyment in an aquatic setting is what you can expect on a cruise. Everything about the cruise environment is just plain lovely - it's almost like getting high on the beauty of the aquatic setting you'll be traveling in. And since cruises do not come cheap, having a good time and getting good value is paramount. Planning is the first thing you should focus on if you are going on a cruise.

Pick the Best Cruise Liner

The first step in planning a cruise is to choose the best cruise line and the destination. Ask yourself what you really want to get from your cruise, then get cracking, seeing the different options cruise lines have to offer. You will also want to decide how long you wish the cruise to be.

You can choose from any of the world famous cruises such as the panama cruise, Mediterranean cruise, carnival cruise, Caribbean cruise, Europe cruise, Alaska cruise, and Norwegian cruise.

Check with People Who Have Gone On Cruise

If you know other people who have been on a cruise previously, you can certainly ask them for their insights. This should help you in your search for the right cruise line, though researching on the amenities offered can also be a great help. And once you are done gathering data and come up with several possible conclusions, you can narrow down your choices to see if these liners travel to your preferred destination.

Booking Your Trip

You have two choices when it comes to booking your cruise, and these are having a travel agent do it for you, or doing so on the liner's website or a third party travel website. Aside from that, this will also be your chance to select room types alongside with the rest of the booking process. If you want to avail of shore excursions or other off-ship activities you should also book these early.

Good coaching wins sporting events - good planning helps you become a winner of sorts as you enjoy your cruise vacation. Good planning also helps you make sure that once you return home after a week or two, you'll be ready to return to your everyday routine feeling re-energized and stress-free.

The Aftermath of a Vacation.

By Allan Marsh

Your vacation was an extraordinary experience! Maybe you visited an exotic island or a historical landmark full of excitement. Returning home from an eventful trip leaves you wanting more time off. Going back to work and taking care of the house once again becomes your normal day to day life. In addition, there is all that unpacking of luggage and laundry to be done. Here are some useful tips to ease back into your everyday life and minimize the blues that can follow the end of a great vacation.

Lessen activity and excitement as you move into your vacation's last day. If you have traveled over many time zones, use the last day of your vacation to lounge and relax and try to start working your biological clock back into your home time. Planning and participating in a large number of events on your last day can make the transition to your daily life rather hard. If while vacationing you've been eating a late breakfast, but when home you eat very early, start your last vacation day by adjusting your meal times back to your regular daily schedule. Set your watch back to your home time zone and plan your day around activities adjusted to that timing, including sleeping hours.

Another way to get back into routine is to sleep on the plane during your bedtime hours. Moving around and stretching will help you stay awake during the hours you normally do not sleep. Make sure that you have something to eat during your normal mealtimes. Stopping to eat according to breakfast or dinner times back at home during road trips will ease you back into your daily schedule.

A lot of time goes into packing for a vacation. Luggage does not need to be unpacked immediately when returning home from a vacation. Relax a little bit before unpacking, and take it slow after removing much needed items from your suitcase. The same holds true for approaching after vacation laundry. The day you return from a vacation, there is no need to clean and put away every bit of laundry. Review mail and other bills that accumulated during the vacation.

Unless you truly need to attack bills that arrived or find a payment you've received that day, save it for tomorrow. Reminisce about enjoyable events that occurred during your vacation while relaxing at home, this will make it easier to go back to reality the next day.

Cruise The Caribbean For Fun And Relaxation

By Paige Thompson

There are three things that come into the minds of most people when asked about their dream vacation, and those things are sun, sand and water. The perfect way to relax is to get far away from your daily routine and relax in the warm sun. If this sounds like the vacation for you, what you need is a Caribbean cruise.

If you truly want to experience the feeling of living on a boat, or, if you are looking for a cost-efficient way to see the Caribbean, you'll find this aboard a mid-size cruise ship. You end up spending less while being able to enjoy most of the same perks you would get in a larger cruise ship.

If you are nervous at the thought of sailing on the ocean, or, if you want to be pampered, a large cruise ship should be your choice. Some of the amenities you can enjoy in such a setup are large swimming pools and dance floors, spas and restaurants.

But regardless of your choice of cruise ship, you are guaranteed to have a great time you will never forget! And as you go cruising, you're sure to make a few stopovers along the way, and these stopovers will be in the lovely islands of the Caribbean. You can shop for local hand-made crafts, explore the islands, or go sailing or snorkeling in the tropical waters. But the coup de grace in many cases is a traditional performance or other local festivities made especially for tourists such as yourself!

If your budget is limited, then you can have just as much fun on a cruise that would last about three or four days. Yes, these may be shorter than your average cruise, but when you get back home you'll feel just as relaxed as you would after a month-long vacation! Often, all we need is a change of scenery and time to relax, no matter how long or short it is. Now if you have a lot of free time and a lot of money to spend, then go nuts and book yourself a two-week Caribbean cruise that will allow you more sightseeing and relaxation opportunities!

There are numerous cruise lines to choose from, with ships sailing from several different ports at all times of the year. You will need to do your homework - either research on the Internet or check with a travel agent to find the perfect Caribbean cruise - it will be all worth the extra effort!

Secrets Of Healthy And Hardy Business Travelers

By Gabrielle Knoss

Most people are healthier when they're home, as opposed to on the road. Travel brings consumers to strange environments where sleep, exercise, and eating routines can be altered. This could aggravate any pre-existing stress due to business, or lead to upset stomachs, lack of sleep or allergies. Fear not - there is a way for you to remain healthy while traveling.

Strange food can lead to allergies and illnesses when someone is traveling overseas.

Eat moderately. You will most likely be exposed to exotic and strange foods so take it easy if you must.

Admit it - perhaps you're a junk food junkie who eats chips while at work. Satisfy those munchies instead with fruit, nut, or an energy bar. Fruit that you peel is probably safer. Know the difference between hunger and boredom. Have enough (healthy) food in your stomach before a long flight.

Here are some water safety tips to follow. You need to drink plenty of water on your trip, but it must be safe water you are sure of. Don't put ice on your drinks - settle on a cool bottle of water if you are unsure of the water in your destination. Bring an extra water bottle when it's time for you to get on the return trip.

Avoid alcohol and caffeine. Both are diuretics and will keep you going to the bathroom unnecessarily. One bottle of beer or one cup of coffee in the air is good as two on the ground. But if you really have to drink to be polite at a bar gathering, be one of the first to leave the building.

Get plenty of rest and sleep. Book your hotel room in a place that is safe from the noise of revelers and leisure travelers on a wild party. Remember that you're on the trip for business - less noise means more rest and less temptation. Also, it isn't a good idea to have a room near the elevators - and especially near ice machines.

Because ice machines vibrate, it is easy for them to be heard in nearby rooms. It's wise to clear a path from your bed to the bathroom before you turn out the light. It will save a possible "trip" you didn't want to take.

Find some time to exercise. If you stay fit you can potentially do better in your business dealings. Who knows, you can even make a vital business contact by visiting your hotel's health spa.

If you have back problems, two small suitcases with wheels are better than one large one. Wheel two smaller suitcases, or have a porter help you.

Adjust your watch to the time zone of your destination to help avoid jet lag. Go to bed when the natives go to bed - even if it's noon at home.

Avoid ill co-workers and regularly wash your hand.

Stay calm if ever you do get sick. Rest, take your medications and it will likely pass in a day or two. And while you're up, you can unwind while listening to music or watching TV. Your co-workers will appreciate your not spreading any illness to them.

Get The Best Airfare, Hotel And Rental Car Deals

By Dustin Faulkner

If you are looking for a good travel deal, leaving things up to chance won't help you. Never cross your fingers and hope for the best - research your options and get the vacation you deserve when you're spending your hard-earned money.

Sometimes, booking early is key, since you will have the opportunity to keep up with different discounts and make changes if necessary. If you've been searching for a long time now, and you see something that looks like a good deal - it probably is!

Try to look on line for various travel deals. Online booking is usually the cheapest way to arrange for your travel. Simply checking websites that claim the lowest prices isn't enough anymore. Compare as many prices as you can, to ensure you get the best possible deal.

If you are one of those people that makes last minute decisions, you should check deals on flights that have last minute deals on seats still available. This could cut costs by a lot since airlines want your business.

When searching for a good travel deal, make sure to look and see if the price of the ticket includes taxes and all applicable fees. This could cost you an extra hundred dollars.

When searching for hotels, similar to airfare, try not to settle for the first rate you're offered. If you can qualify for any discounted rate, such as senior or military, make sure you ask. Selecting a hotel which is not directly in the midst of the action can also save you a lot of money. Ask for an upgrade to a suite because many companies will do it for free if the room is empty.

You should also ask for upgrades when you are renting a car. It is typically cheaper to rent on line and for a whole week than walking in and renting by the day. Make sure you calculate taxes of the rate that's being offered to you.

Check with your auto-insurance agent to make sure that you're covered in case an accident occurs while in a rental car. Before leaving the lot, be sure to make note of any dents, scratches, stains, or other damages in order to avoid taking the bill for someone else's carelessness.

A final good travel deal tip is to try walking from your hotel or hostel to a local restaurant. Aside from saving money, you can also really take in the beauty of the local scenery.

Discount Travel - Sacrifice, Compromise, Revolutionize

By Kathleen Burch

The size of your wallet should not be something that would preclude you from traveling to the best tourist spots. You too can find discount travel options in a variety of different places. It is possible to go on holiday even if you haven't got a good few pounds to spend on a Caribbean trip or a jaunt to Paris.

First, if discount travel is all that is in your budget, consider compromising on your destination. The beach where you want to be? Why splurge money on a Caribbean cruise or jaunt to Hawaii, California or Cabo when you can just head on down to the local beach? Since this effectively saves money otherwise spent on an airline ticket, you would most likely have enough to spend on other things, such as a chintzy hotel or dinner out of town. The same is true if you love the mountains, the city, or almost every other tourist destination. If you choose a destination closer to your home city or province, you can save quite a few quid.

Moreover, you can find discount travel if you work with enough advance notice and do your research to find the best offers. When you book months in advance, you can sometimes find better rates. So there you have it -- start your travel planning as early as you could so you can spend more time doing online searches and making inquiries with your local travel agency. Consider traveling when it is not a busy tourist season.

Another facet of budget traveling would be the packed lunch. This may not seem like a big deal, but a family of four can easily spend $50.00 or more for a dinner at a restaurant. Cooking your own lunch can save you money, time and effort. Pack sandwiches and snacks, which will not only save you money, but will also be much healthier.

Discount travel is not as difficult to find as you may think. Learn how to compromise. Book a four-day, instead of a five-day stay. Save on lodging expenses by going camping. By driving and not renting, you only spend on petrol. Hopefully, you'll be able to save enough money to go on the vacation of your dreams in a few years, but for now, discount travel is possible.

7 Ways To Save On Travel Expenses

By Victor Hood

There are many trade secrets in the venerable travel industry. And today's environment is especially difficult for the travel scene. With the endless increase in fuel prices and the constant threat of terrorism the travel industry has been forced to make cuts and changes. Any price hikes are invariably passed on to the consumer.

If you want to get the most of what the travel industry has to offer these days, you need to be aware of the different policies and procedures as well as their consequences. The savings will go to the educated and the persistent.

The first discounted fare you see on the Internet isn't always the ideal option. Shop and compare. Some websites collect a volume discount fee which affects the price of your ticket. Use traditional means of finding discounts, such as the Sunday travel section of your local paper.

Believe it or not, you can still save flying as compared to driving, due to exorbitant gas prices. This is especially true if you're flying a long distance - a similar car trip would cost more due to the costs of survival and lodging. Don't make a decision without your pencil and calculator.

You can save by booking at alternate airports. There are quite a few well-known cities with multiple airports. Some are cheaper to fly into and out of than others. There would be times, though, that you will have to drive to the next city to save some money on airfare by booking at their airport. You could find yourself saving hundreds off your travel costs. As a rule of thumb, smaller airports are usually more affordable, as well as friendlier, with amenities such as free parking.

One classic tactic that might save you money is buying two round-trip tickets. Just use the respective leg that you need - one going and one coming back. This is called back to back ticketing and is frowned on by the airlines but is legal in most cases. Check the legality of this method before using and of course the cost savings.

Buyer beware. In particular, be mindful of where you booked the reservation and how much you paid, because that might determine the room's quality. Hotels, in general, consider the amount you paid when selecting a room for you. More often than not, a huge discount would give you a room near the ice machine and a Continental breakfast. This is an unwritten rule in the hotel industry, so to make sure you don't run into this problem, check the hotel's website first.

Save money by doing away with car rental insurance. Check before you travel to see if your present auto insurance has you covered. If you charge the rental to a credit card most companies cover you automatically. Don't let yourself be covered twice - remember, car rental employees often earn commissions from this system.

Last minute deals on airlines and hotels can save you a bundle but you must be flexible. Both parties can benefit from something here, because an empty seat is a waste of money in itself. You can get information on these last minute deals by doing quick Internet searches or signing up for email updates.

Travel services today are rarely complimentary. If you are aware of the different options on how to save, you just might get lucky.

Airplane Comfort Tips

By Glenn Matthews

The most important Airplane Comfort Tip that will make you feel very comfortable while flying is if you know that you have struck the best deal and managed to save a lot of money. The right amount of research and patience can get you a great deal, may your trip be for business purposes or a family vacation.

This article deals with other airplane comfort tips you may not be aware of, compiled from different air travel experts' insider info. These airplane comfort tips, except the first, have little to do with the bottom line or research or airfare, though - these tips are surprisingly simple ways to have a more comfortable flight.

When Should You Call Airlines?

The first airplane comfort tip suggests that you may get air tickets at a lower price if you call the airlines after 12 midnight and before 1:00 A.M. This is because this would normally be the time when the airlines update their systems. Alternatively, you may make inquiries at other nearby airports. The difference between airports may be greater than you think, maybe even hundreds of dollars. Booking well before your flight date is an old-fashioned trick that almost always works. Conversely, last minute flights are another great source of cheap travel - you may want to try this as well.

How To Deal With Airplane Dryness

The next two airplane comfort tips are geared towards keeping you physically comfortable, now that we've taken the obvious out of the way, being the tips that could help you maintain a clear head for the duration of your flight. Take a light meal and sleep for at least eight hours the night before the flight takes off. Airplane dryness is a phenomenon that is largely unavoidable, but you'll get through it better without any caffeine or alcohol. However, consume as much water and fresh fruit juices as you can. If you wear contact lenses, remove them if it is possible. Lip balm will keep your lips moist, while lotion helps with your exposed skin. Before the flight, see your doctor for medical advice if you have any form of respiratory illness.

Don't Stay In One Position For A Long Time

Keep yourself moving and don't just stay seated for the entire flight - this is an airplane comfort tip not too many are aware of. Blood circulation gets shut off when you're seated, and this can cause muscle cramps, fatigue and in some cases, even Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). Whenever you get a chance, try moving in the aisle. If you find it difficult, try to stretch your arms, neck, feet and legs.

When it comes to an all inclusive cruise ship, this ship has about everything. Most of the time, the cost of your food, drinks, and entertainment are taken care of. Whether or not you should book reservations aboard a traditional cruise ship or an all inclusive one is what many people wonder.

An all inclusive cruise ship come with many advantages and disadvantages.

The majority of your needs being taken care of is the biggest advantage. There are a lot of all inclusive cruises that have drinks, entertainment, and food covered. You can drink a large amount of alcohol or feast on the amazing onboard food free of charge. You may also be granted exclusive admittance into movie theatres and video arcades.

While many of your food and drinks are included in an all-inclusive package, not all are. It is possible that you may be required to pay for your alcoholic beverages. There are cruise ships that don't include alcohol beverages in their package, but others do.

Your snacks may not be covered but your food at a sit-down restaurant may be provided free of charge. Snacks or small meals bought at onboard specialty shops and vending machines are included in this. By bringing your own snacks onboard if the ship allows it, you can save money.

Entertainment is often included in an all inclusive cruise ship package. But often, entertainment is limited just like with food and drinks. You may have free admission to a ball or dance, but gambling isn't free of charge.

To find out whether or not you will save money aboard an all inclusive cruise ship, you should estimate your cost of food, drinks, and entertainment aboard a traditional cruise. Comparing the two will help you determine the cruise package that offers the better deal.

Disney World Trip Tips

By Gina Parks

When you finally decide to plan a Disney World trip, you certainly want to make sure everything goes as planned. Here are a few suggestions to make the most of your Disney World vacation:

You should definitely plan every part of your trip ahead, so you won't have to worry about reservations and obstacles when you finally get there. A well-planned visit is a hassle-free visit.

Make sure you check about the closing schedule of attractions you have an interest in.

Cut down on food expenses by bringing along some food and beverages. Dining at Disney World is an experience you won't want to miss, but food purchased in the park is expensive. All the rooms offer at least a refrigerator and microwave, and some camps even a grill, so you can save money on bringing some of the meals along.

Pack lots of sunscreen. The weather in Florida is bright and sunny year round, so you definitely don't want to forget sunscreen. Don't forget sunglasses either.

You should consider bringing some water shoes and renting a locker if you plan to visit a water park.

Gratuities are not included in the dining packages, so you should also have extra cash available.

It is a good idea to check on height and age requirements for rides and attractions if you travel with young children.

Each adult should carry a valid picture ID such as a driver's license or passport for alcoholic beverage purchases. Even if alcohol is included in your dining package, you are still required to show a valid ID.

Adequate clothing and shoes are a must if you want to feel comfortable. Also pack a sweater or light jacket if you travel in the winter.

Buy trip insurance, especially during hurricane season. Trips to Disney World aren't cheap. You should be assured that if something happens you are covered.

You should carry as little cash as possible. Travelers' checks and credit cards are a better option, since they can be cancelled in case of loss.

A Fast pass ticket option is a great upgrade, if you can afford it. It can definitely make waiting in line a lot shorter.

Stay as long as you can. Disney World is huge, and you'll want to explore it as much as possible. You can take advantage of even more discounts if you stay longer.

Have a lot of fun, but make sure you remain flexible for sudden changes of schedule due to bad weather. You will have fun no matter what, but good planning goes a long way to ensure your vacation will be a memorable one.

Points To Consider Before Going On A South African Safari

By Kurt Fuller

Many people want to go to South Africa for vacation since the 2010 World Cup. The wildlife is a huge attraction there and they have many wildlife parks. There are some things that you should think about before going.

Budgets

Although the exchange rate is generally in the international visitor's favor, there are a variety of options available that can make your vacation more affordable. Usually there are game lodges that will offer nice places to stay. These vacations are for the luxury-seeking, money's-no-object holidaymakers.

National parks usually will offer self catering cottages and places to eat and camp for affordable prices.

Another option is to stay in hotels, guest houses or bed and breakfast establishments close to the many national parks, using their proximity to take day trips into the park while still able to experience other attractions in the area. This will give you more freedom, even if you have to hire a car. South Africa has many well equipped camping sites.

The Season You Go

The seasons are reversed because South Africa is in the southern hemisphere. The best game viewing time is in winter - June to September - where temperatures may reach 70 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit depending on which part of the country you are visiting.

Winter is usually the dry season so it brings the animals to water holes. Vegetation is not so dense, making game-spotting easier too.

Your Safety

The crime statistics in South Africa may deter some visitors, an alert tourist will have no problems. They do however, have to be alert and aware of what is going on around them. Petty theft is really going to be the only thing to look out for in smaller towns. Don't leave cameras, cell phones, or wallets unattended. Cars should be locked, and any valuables packed in the trunk or glove compartment out of site before arriving at your destination.

The animals that you are going to look at are wild. Any rules that you are given, follow. Although an animal may appear unperturbed by a car stopping nearby, they can quickly change their minds if they feel threatened, with disastrous consequences.

Check and see if the area that you want to visit is prone to malaria. Whether you are visiting a malaria zone or not, take insect repellent and use it liberally, especially in the evenings and at night. You must wear sunscreen, too.

Outside of a zoo, you will never see wild animals like this. The "Big Five", which are lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants, and Cape buffalo, are supplemented by other animals like antelope and giraffe. South Africa has beautiful landscapes, beaches, and other attractions.

By Marcela Borges

Insane outfits, thong bikinis, sweet lime cocktails, beaches, mountains and pretty Brazilians having a party through the night are images that have placed a Rio de Janeiro exotic vacation on the tourism radar. However with fame, comes fortune and Rio's wow aspect today carries a rising cost.

Rio is covered with a coast of beaches, with vistas that range between tanned and delightful to god awful prune and saggy. Copacabana beach became well-known in the '50s, which still draws the nostalgia crowd from that period. Ipanema beach is much easier on the eyes. At posto 9, make-you-jealous dudes kick around soccer balls while smoking hot females sip from coconuts. If Ipanema is too packed, embark to the 11 mile beach in Barra da Tijuca in which you'll find an equally sexy collection of cariocas at Pepe.

You do not need to leave the city for a break from Rio's bustle. Jardim Botanico, situated simply over the lagoa from Ipanema, is a lush, calm garden escape for approximately $3. More exciting options exist a little further away in Tijuca National Park, the largest urban forest on the globe which you could hike infinite hiking trails via waterfalls, caves and mountain peaks while unique birds and monkeys taunt you from atop, all at no cost.

While rio de janeiro hotels could be very high priced and hostels somewhat unclean and not very pleasant, many vacation goers like to go with rio flats. While there is rio penthouses for individuals that need luxury, there is one and two bedroom rio de janeiro apartments to rent in both ipanema and copacabana that can be priced perfectly.

As you may know from City of God, life in these shanty towns isn't all peaches and sunshine. However passing up the favelas throughout your stay in Rio provides you with a sheltered look of the city that doesn't contemplate one-fifth of Brazil's inhabitants. Discover the total picture by passing time down in real poverty. While a lone day time stroll through a favela is not going to get you in a heap of gasoline-soaked tires, a guide is useful to learn some history and avoid getting lost within the concrete jungle.

You Still Can Get A Big Cruise Line Discount

By Glenn Matthews

Taking a cruise used to be only for the rich. And depending on your class there would be some restricted areas, as well as different classes per passenger. There weren't that many cruise ships to go around either, which led to poor to average accommodations with little comfort. And for those who enjoy socializing, it wasn't too cozy either as you could only interact with your fellow passengers from the same class.

The increased demand for cruising led to an increased supply of cruise ships. Cruise ships would also evolve in terms of luxury and space, as one ship would be built after the other. Today's ships are almost as luxurious as your average resort. And best of all, cruising is now affordable even for average folk in this era of expensive fuel costs. But, it's up to you or a trusted travel agent to find the best deal available.

Book online with travel companies, buy directly from the cruise line of choice or enlist the services of a travel agent. Try all and settle on the best deal for you. With any booking option, book early and save ten to forty percent.

Develop instant credibility and save money by making payment in full. Standby booking is good for those who are flexible with their times of departure. Standby passengers are usually notified if they made the list 2 to 3 weeks prior to departure.

You can get an idea of how your cruise is going to cost by looking at the size and location of the cabin. Interior cabins are cheapest with no view; but unless you plan to spend a lot of time in the room this won't matter. If you're going on a cruise where the scenery is great, you may want to fork over some dough by going for cabins with a window and/or a balcony - it will be all worth the extra cost.

Ask for discounts or special packages when you book. The cruise line is highly likely to give you a big discount if you're a senior citizen, or a member of the AAA or AARP, or other similar organizations.

If you're traveling as a group, chances are good you will be eligible for a discount as well. Sign up for newsletters to keep abreast of the latest deals.

You can take advantage of lower rates by traveling off-peak. If you're planning to get away before the Christmas season, that's the perfect time for a Caribbean cruise. Booking an Alaskan cruise immediately before or after the summer months could save you money.

Another technique you can use to get a discount is to have your cruise repositioned. During the spring and fall seasons, cruise ships can often be relocated to a different part of the world. The only way to get ships to another location is to sail them and it's more cost efficient to have revenue paying passengers on board.

You can be rewarded for your loyalty. Cruise lines offer discounts to passengers who have booked several cruises with them in the past. You could get a chance to book another cruise at a lower rate while on your current cruise. Cruise officials know you're having so much fun it's hard to say no.

There are no age or mobility restrictions with cruises. The food, entertainment and lodging is second to none. As an added bonus, you get treated like a king or queen. If you had the money, you'd probably want to book a cruise now, preferably book your reservation to somewhere exotic. But to many, the cruise is the destination.

Thinking Out Of The Box To Cut Down Travel Costs

By George Talbert

Usually, when people go on vacation, they enjoy all the amenities of the popular tourist destination they visit - the food, the hotel reservation, the attractions, the activities - and return home via car or plane with a camera full of memories and stories to tell the folks back home. Don't misconstrue this as something to avoid. And for some, maybe even twice a year.

The tourist spots mentioned above, however, can often be "overpopulated" during vacation season - how about thinking out of the box for your next vacation? There are countless lands to explore and numerous ways to do it if we have the wandering spirit to search and learn. The best thing of all is that these options are more affordable than the usual vacation getaway.

Swap your home with another family in another area. It's better if you live in a tourist spot. You can find families willing to swap by searching online and in the local papers. This is usually done free of charge with the details provided discreetly via phone or email. If you fail to come to terms, you can ask if you could rent the house. Shop carefully and request pictures.

Instead of reserving your lodging at a hotel, you can drop by a Bed and Breakfast and enjoy a full breakfast each day you stay at the place. Prices will vary, you may have to share a bath and a deposit will probably be required. Many people say this is the only way to travel and savor the culture.

Travelers 55 and above can get great discounts by reserving at elderhostels. Nearly 100 countries and all 50 states have at least one elderhostel - all in all about 8,000 worldwide. For a very low cost, travelers 55 and up can get together and exchange valuable ideas and learn new things through educational tours offered at elderhostels. Once again, prices may vary. You get to deal with tour guides and teachers who are well-versed with the culture of the country or state they're from.

Try volunteering while on vacation. If you enjoy helping out in the community, you can do volunteer work while traveling at the same time. Most of the time you travel in groups making discounts easier to obtain.

If you plan to travel locally, you can visit the Big Easy and rebuild hurricane-damaged homes in New Orleans - if you plan to travel overseas, you can help plant trees in the jungles of the Amazon. But while doing these things, you can still have fun somehow. Get more information from the United Way or Red Cross.

You can go on the road on an RV instead of staying at a hotel. It's not only senior citizens revving up RVs and going vacationing these days, but also the younger crowd - take note, though, that gas prices may not make this very advisable.

Large families going on long trips can benefit from this option, as it saves up on the costs of hotel rooms and dining, as you can sleep in the RV and cook your own meals. You could even find yourself offsetting gas costs. If you're not sure you want to take the plunge and buy an RV many are available to rent.

Monasteries and spiritual retreats give us a chance to do some soul searching while away from home. Oftentimes all you need to do is make a small donation. You don't need to subscribe to the beliefs at these places - all you need to do is help out with the chores and attend the activities, but no obligation to change your belief set. This is your change to get a much-needed spiritual break. As you can see, there are different options aside from the usual hotel reservation. These unorthodox ways to take a vacation may save you money without sacrificing on the fun factor.

Price is not the Only Thing to Consider When You Buy Luggage

By Dana McLean

Ever heard of plastic rollers, broken zippers, ripped seams, and bent handles? These are bad effects you may get if you buy a luggage based on price. If you want to protect your things, you don't want to scrimp on the cost of luggage.

You may decide to purchase a warranty for your luggage but it will be confusing and not much will be covered in the end. By the time you pay to send your item for repair, it's not really worth the effort.

With inexpensive luggage, one very common problem that occurs is the use of plastic wheels or rollers. Plastic rollers do not roll well and tend to break easily. Because your luggage will be prone to tipping over, dragging it on the thin airport carpet will be difficult. Your luggage will end up spending more time on its sides than on its wheels.

The poor construction of the extendable handle is another common problem. These handles sometimes don't extend and lock properly and will bend the handle eventually. It will be impossible for you to pull your wheeled luggage once it bends because it can no longer extend properly and the handle will be useless.

And nothing can fix a broken zipper. If big, cheap metal zippers is what your luggage has, then it will likely split. If your luggage is too full or gets squashed by a heavier luggage, then this is likely to happen.

There is only one way to make sure none of these scenarios happen to you. Be careful to buy luggage only from a well-known manufacturer. There are consumer reviews on the luggage you want to purchase and you can read those to see other's experiences. Check the Internet for information about the brand or brands you have your eye on so you will be well informed. Don't fall for sales that advertise $400 luggage for $200 but rather go online to compare. Don't fall victim by a so-called "designer" luggage. Calvin Klein may make great jeans, but that doesn't mean they can make great luggage. What's important in a great luggage is construction.

Think carefully about the kind of use your luggage will get. It's worth the money to have more expensive luggage if you travel frequently. While shopping, be sure to open the luggage and thoroughly check the inside.

Be safe, vacation in the correct locations and discard any tourist-target routines you might have created in Europe.

Traveling To China -- Your Options And Attractions In Brief

By Willie Green

A traveler might wonder where to begin in a foreign country that is slightly smaller than the size of the United States with over 5,000 years of recorded history. The wonderful advantage to traveling China is that there is no right or wrong place to start. The old-fashioned mien of Chinese culture is not just manifested in one location alone -- it is manifested everywhere, regardless of province (totaling 23), autonomous region (five*) or municipality (four). Thanks to China's unusual "one country, two systems" legislation, the Special Administrative Regions of Hong Kong and Macau also fall under the rule of China.

China Has Greater Wonders than the Great Wall Alone May they be man-made or natural, China boasts of a treasure-trove of wonders. The southern Tibetan border is home to the world's tallest peak, Mt. Everest. There are many ways to take in the sights of China, and one good way to start would be starting with the Himalayan vantage point all the way at the top, followed by a trip north to Three Gorges, or a 120-mile expanse that takes you down a precipice that ends up along the Yangtze rivers. Or experience recent history by standing right smack dab in the middle of Tiananmen Square, the world's largest plaza, located in China's capital of Beijing. Do not leave Beijing just yet -- a trip to the Imperial Palace should educate you as to why people refer to it as the Forbidden City. And due south, Xian is the place to visit for some authentic artifacts from the Qin Dynasty -- imagine a surplus of six thousand Terracotta warriors arranged in a battle stance covering over 14,000 square meters of land!

Visiting Hong Kong and Macau is Also a Way to Experience China Colonialism has its positive aspects, such as the mellifluous and flawless blending of culture and the autonomy in both a political and business sense, and these two regions are perfect examples. While travel to these provinces provides a very different experience from the rest of China, they are by no means lacking in worldly wonders or the authentic Chinese lifestyle.

Hong Kong became one of our territories in 1841 as our ancestors had been heavily involved for centuries in trading of both silk and tea. This territory would then heavily expand and following exposure to numerous and diverse cultural and commercial influences, Hong Kong would become a major tourist attraction thereafter. China regained sovereignty over the British colony in 1997 but agreed to leave the democratic government structure intact. Nowadays this locale is nonesuch in terms of progress and innovation, not only in a cultural milieu but also in terms of architecture (e.g. the three longest bridges in the world) and technology as well.

Located west thirty-five miles of Hong Kong and located across the delta of the Pear River, Macau is an enclave located on a peninsula, with small islands surrounding it. Way back in 1887, Portugal became sovereign over Macau following a long and intense period of trade and navigation. The Portuguese finally ceded all authority back to China in 1999. Macau's cultural, gastronomic and artistic milieu can be most succinctly described as a quaint confluence of Chinese and Portuguese elements. The more cultured sorts in Macau (which could mean most everybody) would commonly combine such seemingly incongruent elements like Portuguese wine, Dim sum and a pastry for their meals and it would still come across as the norm.

Be sure to set aside ample time to explore Hong Kong and Macau as part of your itinerary to travel China!

Caribbean Family Resorts

By Quinn Harris

The Caribbean has become a well known standard for family vacations. This is place for fun and frolic, and resorts have a wealth of different features for adults and children alike. Here are some of the essential components of most family packages:

Deluxe swimming pools with water slides Water sports and the beach Family activities and programs designed for children of all ages. Drinks on tap and convenient meal times Pampering services for adults such as dining, cocktail parties and spas to name a few Special discount rates for families. Services such as babysitting

There are so many Caribbean all inclusive family travel resorts available today and considering you are spending your hard earned money and you are taking your whole family you want to choose the best one that fits your needs.

When a package advertises as all inclusive, it doesn't necessarily mean everything. You do get snacks and meals, kid's programs and drinks, some water sports among other things but not everything. Take note of these quick points:

Water sports like kayaks, wind surfing and aquatrikes are included but things like water skis and jet skis and anything else that is motorized can cost extra.

You can usually do some snorkeling but there may be a time limit to the gear and if you desire to sign up for a boat trip you may have to pay for it.

Scuba is usually considered an extra amenity.

Unless you have booked yourself a special Caribbean travel deal of sorts, spas would cost extra.

There may be deals that are not all inclusive but nonetheless have meals and activities included.

If you travel out of the resort you will cost you but usually there is a shuttle or a town within walking distance.

For the Kids

All inclusive family packages generally include one or two rooms that have everything for a child four to twelve years old -- toys, video games and of course, the telly. A friendly experienced staff is on hand to supervise them. Different packages have different programs for children based on their age group. Some of the best Caribbean family travel specials available are available in the Bahamas' Atlantis, in Punta Cana's Club Med and in several other Beach Resorts.

Babies and Toddlers

It is easier to find infant care and nurseries on many Caribbean travel resorts these days. As a parent, you want to have enough time for yourself and your partner, so it would be a boon to have these services available for the newest additions to the family.

For those concerned about health and safety issues, many large travel resorts have doctors and nurses on call in case of emergencies. Parents will definitely be best advised to make multiple inquiries before the trip so that they can be sure their children are well taken care of through the specialized kid's or baby clubs.
