Barra da Tijuca is a superior place to look for apartments in Rio de Janeiro

By Fabiana Delgado

In most cases when people think of Rio de Janeiro, they think of Ipanema, Copacabana, Christ the Redeemer and Sugarloaf. Barra da Tijuca of course isn't an obscure place, it's just not as prominent. Though it is quite possible that this notion is evolving. To the informed person, this would be a place to be searching for apartments. In the wake of the world's financial instability, Barra da Tijuca has recently been showing that it is an exception to this. While small businesses are unable to survive in the United States and many are closing up shop, the reverse of this is transpiring in Rio de Janeiro. Everywhere you look construction is taking place, hotels are springing up, parks are being constructed. Specifically when you take a look at Barra da Tijuca.

The developing growth should be distinct to anyone who decides to take a walk down Av. America's. No longer just a place to take a holiday, there is an explosion manifesting. Complexes for apartments, rentals, shopping malls, restaurants, hotels, various flats... The construction that is happening can only be described as outstanding. With the developing community in this part of Rio it can be surmised that Barra da Tijuca is an economic hotspot. This should not be dismissed. In time, perhaps Barra da Tijuca will in fact over shadow Ipanema and Copacabana in terms of notoriety for people to travel to.

The signals of investment potential for real estate and business's are beginning to get difficult to count. The inescapable fact that the Olympics are to be located in Rio as well as the World Cup Soccer as well as the accommodations to support it. These are also facts that shouldn't be disregarded. Add to this the discovery of oil makes this place a financial juggernaut that is impossible to ignore.

Also, in the relative near future a subway system will be connecting Barra da Tijuca to the rest of the city. While earlier, accessibility and transportation was a good reason to not live in this part of Rio de Janeiro, that will soon be a thing of the past. Not to mention that from an investment standpoint, property values will rise with this new supplement to the infrastructure. It's little wonder why so many hotels, apartments and flats are being built here. Whether you are looking to own property or merely looking for vacation rentals, this is surely a good place to look.

So with all of these points being made, the value should be crystal clear. Barra da Tijuca is riding an economic wave that it would be smart not to miss. As the development proceeds it will be clear that this will surely become a hotspot in terms of quality of life, accommodations, as well as earnings. So what are you waiting for?

Whats Is Better: A Package Deal Or A Flight Only

By Joanna Fredricson

You may be heading off abroad and are confused about whether to go for a package deal or whether to choose a flight only. Each of these options has its advantages and disadvantages so before you make up your mind you will want to think about these.

One option is not going to be the best decision for everyone so hopefully the information below will help you to make the right decision for you.

What Will Make a Package Deal a Good Choice

When it comes to package deals you tend to get things cheaper overall. This is the main reason why people choose this option and it certainly easy to understand why.

The convenience of this option is also another reason why it remains popular; it means that you don't have to look for accommodation as well as flights because everything is included in the one package. Another thing that might be worth considering is an all-inclusive option because this means that you don't even have to be concerned about your food while on holiday; it is all part of the package. So if you want a cheap getaway then a package deal can be a good choice.

Why Choose Flight Only

A package deal can mean taking a big risk unless you are already knowledgeable about the hotel you are going to be staying in. Most holiday makers who end up unhappy with their accommodation ended up in it because of a package deal.

Because you will be choosing your own accommodation when you choose flight only, you are less likely to end up in accommodation that you are unhappy with. And when you choose flight only, you have more freedom to move somewhere else if you are unhappy with the accommodation you have chosen. If you don't like your hotel you can just go somewhere else the next night.

Both of these options have pros and cons. A flight only option will give you more freedom but the package deal is much more convenient.

The relationship between the oil industry and the holiday sector

By Solomon Isaacs

Many industries are negatively affected by rising fuel prices, which has happened recently because of the uncertain geopolitical problems in the Middle East. Holidays, for example, become a lot more expensive. Unfortunately changes in the price of jet fuel are tracked by airline companies in such a way that the customer foots the bill. For example, long haul flights with Air New Zealand have recently been bumped up by 17 percent to recover losses from fuel prices.

Depending on where you are travelling to, this can only be the start of the bad news. If you are holidaying within the Euro zone, for example, the rise in oil prices can make your whole holiday that bit more expensive. Countries in the Euro zone are incredibly dependent on imported oil, and so the rise in fuel prices has a negative overall effect on their economies, decreasing the GDP, increasing inflation and therefore increasing the cost of your stay.

This is not to mention the cost of driving, which is an alternative way to get to your destination, or a way to get around once you are there. A popular holiday for the English is to drive up to Scotland, but this can be expensive if fuel prices are high, especially when the cost of living day to day is going up too. Cold winters and the increased price of heating make even the prospect of saving for a holiday distant dream for many.

The problems mentioned so far can be multiplied if where you are planning to go has a stronger economy than your hometown. Hiring a car can be an even more distant possibility if your exchange rate is poor.

Though they are hit in the short term, it is not just the tourists that suffer from this. There are businesses that rely heavily on tourism and these are in trouble too. Some areas could be severely affected, because they might not be able to afford a year without business.

Apartments with enchantment in Rio de Janeiro

By Mariana Ferraz

It's improbable you have heard of Ilha da Gigoia, let alone been there. Surely not a famed place like Ipanema or Copacabana and it's not a very large island. A short walk will cover the whole spot and it should be noted that there are no roads or cars. Being such a tranquil and relaxed situation makes for fantastic accommodations. If you're looking for a different vacation get away than staying at hotels, it may also amaze you that Gigoia is in the heart of Rio de Janeiro, but yet still, most people have never heard of it, much less have they looked for apartments there.

Being among the largest of islands in Lagoa da Tijuca, which lies at the northern end of Barra de Tijuca, near to Barra Point Shopping. Nestled away, this exceptional piece of real estate is a one of the concealed treasures of Rio de Janeiro, though still reasonably close to places like Copacabana and Ipanema. Cars are not a requirement here and there are boats that transfer everyone to and from the island. The boats run 24 hours, 7 days a week. It won't take you long to get to know the ferryman and nearby inhabitants of the island.

With somewhere in the local community of 2000 folks residing on the island, it definitely has a perception of community and without a doubt it will be an exciting place to travel to. In addition to flats and apartments, the island features local bars and dining establishments. Though you won't find any hotels and it's not an extreme night life, it certainly has its charms and rentals are feasible. In addition to this you can also find numerous services including internet, laundry, a small drug store, as well as a local grocery store on the island, which can be practical.

One of the tricks though is actually finding apartments, flats or any kind of rentals on Ilha da Gigoia. This is where it becomes crucial to know people. Being one of those "off the beaten path" kind of places, obtaining accommodations on this charming little island haven isn't as easy as surfing the internet or opening a newspaper. In this case, it really becomes mandatory to get out there and speak to people. If you're hunting for a place to live on the island, that little hole in the wall bar placed near the "main street" has now become your portal to the neighborhood. Just ask around, at some point you connect with someone who knows someone who can point you in the right direction.

With some success, you will soon find yourself in your new peaceful island home. Away from the fast paced city life, noises of traffic and common nuisances. The perfect atmosphere for anyone who is looking for a little peace and quiet and a distinct way of life. Not your normal holiday in hotels. So sit back, relax and enjoy the appeal that this little island life has to offer. Enjoy Rio de Janeiro in a diverse light.

Long Haul Flights And What To Do To Make Sure You Are Comfortable

By Johnny Parsons

You may be about to take a long haul flight in economy class and if this is the case it is understandable that you might be worried about your comfort level. The idea of being packed in like a sardine for hours on end isn't something that most of us will relish but there are things we can do to make it a more pleasant experience.

So if you are taking a long haul flight in economy class, then you can try the following tips to ensure that you are as comfortable as possible during the flight.

- Pre-booking your seat before you fly is a good idea. Although this is something that many people will neglect to do it is a very wise move. Make sure you do it as soon as you arrange your flight so as to get your preference. If you get a seat near an emergency exit then you will usually have more room.

An aisle seat can be a good idea because it means more room, but it also means that you will have to move everything if the people in the inside seats want to get up to the toilet. A window seat can be good but it means struggling over people to get to the toilet and you are a bit jammed in.

- Don't take too much hand luggage with you if possible and place what you do have up in the overhead compartment. You will not have that much space available to you so what you do have should not be wasted on your luggage. Placing your bag under the seat in front of you will start to become a nuisance after a while.

- Some people think that they can sleep through the whole flight by getting inebriated before they get on the plane. This idea commonly backfires on people and it ends up turning the flight into a trial of endurance as they keep needing to make trips to the toilet.

Your Step By Step Tutorial To Vacationing Overseas

By Walter Q. Xavier

Traveling abroad is one of the most wonderful things you can do. But you can't enjoy this amazing experience unless you actually take some steps in the right direction. In this article, you'll learn the essential things you need to do to get started. This can be applied to traveling by yourself or with your whole family.

First of all, you'll need to choose a destination. The best way to do this is to head down to your local book store, and browse through the travel section. Just flip through a few guidebooks until you find one that speaks to you.

Next, find out when the best time of year is to visit. Of course, this will depend a lot on your personal tastes. Some places are hot and humid in the summer, which is fine for some people but a deal breaker for others. Local festivals may also play into consideration .

The next decision you've got to make is deciding how long you'd like to stay. Of course, in most cases, this is determined by how much money you've got to spend, as well as how much time off your boss gives you. Try for at least a week or more.

Planning what to do there comes next. Choose ten things that you'd like to do if you had plenty of cash, and plenty of time. Then choose the top three or four, and make sure you do them. The rest you can do if you have some time and money left over.

Once you've got all this stuff figured out, it's time to get the vacation time approved at work. Once that's in the bag, you should buy your ticket. While you're waiting, you can learn a few phrases from your handy guidebook.

Any experienced traveler will tell you that you must get travelers insurance. It is incredibly cheap, and covers so much you won't have to worry about anything.

Now you're ready to go on your first international adventure. Get ready to have the time of your life.

How To Avoid Arguments When Travelling With Others

By Richard Hollins

Many people will claim that you can make a break a relationship by going away on holiday with another person. If you go away with a partner or friends then you could find that you spend most of the holiday wanting to get away from the other person because of confrontational issues.

There are ways that we can avoid such hard feelings and hopefully the following tips will help with this.

- When you go away with others you have to be prepared for a little give and take. If you insist on doing what you like all the time then it is hardly surprising that the other person becomes argumentative. The same will apply if the other person wants to do things all his or her own way all the time. Keep things fair and that way nobody will have the need to feel put upon.

- Money is often the root of a lot of problems on holidays. Make sure that you agree about who pays for what before you go and that way you will avoid later confrontations.

- You have probably heard the claim that familiarity breeds contempt; well this can certainly be true when you are stuck with somebody day and night on a holiday. After a while everything the other person does will start to bug you and eventually this can lead to a showdown. Make sure that you have time to yourself each day and that way there will be less risk of being overwhelmed by the other person.

- Unfortunately there are some friends that you should just avoid going away with altogether. This is because although we can handle them in small doses it will be harder to manage them as a full-time presence in our life. You may just have to avoid a holiday with these people full stop.

Airport Car Rental Companies Take The Edge Off Of High Air Fares

By Abel Satiku

Anyone who has ever planned an overseas trip knows that doing so involves a number of important details. There are airline tickets to purchase, hotel rooms to book, car rental arrangements to make; the list goes on and on. Needless to say, attending to all of these particulars can be time-consuming and taxing.

In fact, one of the most frequent desires that individuals express is that they would like to be able to pay for everything at the same time. The other is that they want to be able to pay less. Considering the often high prices of air fares, the various costs incurred during the course of a trip can bring travel expenses to a hefty total. Obviously, burning a hole through one's pocket is not the best way to start a trip.

In recognition of these problems, airlines are offering all-inclusive, customizable travel packages. Packages which combine the price of air fare and car rental services are particularly popular. This is because car rental companies tend to form partnerships with airlines. In fact, many car rental companies have booking offices in major airports. Given that a high correlation exists between air travel and car rentals, partnerships between airlines and car rental services are not only logical, but lucrative. They are based on the understanding that people would much rather purchase all-inclusive packages at discounted rates, because such packages are not only cheaper, but also more convenient. Because of the sheer number of people opting for discounted all-inclusive packages, airlines and car rental companies can be sure that they will make more money in the long run.

Practically every airline offers some type of all-inclusive air fare and rental package because doing so helps them to keep their competitive edge. Also, the range of car rental companies participating in these types of partnerships is astounding and with so much to choose from, you can be sure to find a car rental service suited to your particular needs. What you should know, is that not all airlines openly advertise their deals, and thus it is always a good idea to be proactive and ask. It is also a good idea to use Internet travel websites, which filter your travel requests and list different car rental rates in order of decreasing value.

In today's fast-paced, convenience-oriented world, many people like the idea of one-stop shopping. This preference for the quick and easy applies as much to the travel industry as to any other type of service. Currently, there are many one-stop resources for all you travelling needs, and with so many businesses catching on to the trend, you can be sure that purchasing a plane ticket and renting a vehicle for travel purposes is now easier and cheaper than ever.

Script Leak: Hangover 3 is scheduled to take place within some Rio de Janeiro Hotels

By Marvin Stellar

On the heels of the recent recording of The Hangover 2 that is currently taking place in Thailand, speculation is already brewing for the 2nd sequel to the uproarious comedy. Some story leaks for Hangover 3 appear to reveal that the film could possibly occur in Rio de Janeiro. Apparently hotels and flats were scouted as potential recording locations in addition to apartments and other rentals, presumptively for the cast and crew. At this point, if the next Hangover film were to come to Brazil, it would possibly be filmed mostly in Copacabana and Ipanema.

The original film featured the main cast trying to reconstruct the events of the previous night while hunting for their missing friend whose wedding ceremony is less than two days away. While plot specifics have been kept rather tight for The Hangover 2, it has been determined that our group of comedic heroes take a holiday travel to Thailand to spend their vacation. While the first film took them on a romp through hotels and casinos of Las Vegas it will probably be exciting to see how the tale is carried out in these new accommodations.

If it is legitimate that The Hangover 3 was to be shot in Rio de Janeiro, what would the storyline be? Of course, it would most likely follow the model of the previous film with one of the group disappearing and forcing the others to try to reconstruct the prior night. While there have been unconfirmed reports of hotels being scouted in the vicinity of Copacabana and Ipanema beach as well as other pieces of real estate, the question begs to ask, where else are they very likely to film. In all likelihood candidates certainly could be the famous Christ Statue or the Sugar Loaf. Though filming will also likely take place in some flats or apartments.

Given the latest uptick of Brazil's presence in the film market seems to deliver some legitimacy to this information. Moreover, Rio de Janeiro could be up to the task of supplying a backdrop for this film. Not to mention that logistically, Brazil's growth is becoming more desirable for filming. Given the increased number of apartments and other accommodations, it could be a plausible choice. Rentals are becoming a growing commodity since the announcements of the World Cup and the Olympics are set to be located by Brazil.

While fans anxiously anticipate seeing The Hangover 2, already coming there is a possibility of an expansion to the franchise. Possibly, just possibly, we'll observe that fat bearded guy dancing Samba during Carnival!

A Guide On Cruises

By Elijah Bitson

So you got some time off, looked around, and decided you would like to take a cruise. This could be among the best vacations of your life; on the other hand, mess up with the packing and you could be stuck on a boat in the middle of the ocean without any clothes for the next couple of weeks. So be wise. Plan ahead, and remember this list of things to bring on a cruise.

Before you pack, divide your belongings into two individual bags. This holds true even though your spouse is coming along for the ride. Make sure you do this for each member of your party because, in the event the company misplaces your bags (a rare event, although not impossible), the remaining bag will be able to see you through the whole journey. So pack twice.

Furthermore, remember to pack according to the weather. While ocean cruises are exposed to variable weather (meaning you should pack some warm clothing whether or not the forecast promises sunshine) cruises to, say, the Mediterranean needs to be packed for differently than cruises to Patagonia. The first vacation spot is warm; the latter is hot, so pack consequently.

Probably the most important things to bring on a cruise can be a jacket with a zipper, together with some long warm trousers - these will help you through both types of climates. Try to pack the clothes that suit you and make you look good, particularly if you are proceeding on a singles cruise. Look nice, and you'll feel great for the duration of your trip - and you will feel like you've got your money's worth for the whole ride.

The following is a list of items that are crucial for a cruise trip - feel free to add to them if you believe it is necessary! * Sunscreen, at least of SPF 15 * Passport. * Copies of your tickets * Chapstick with the same SPF as the sunscreen (or more) * A digital camera * Medications, seasickness meds, particularly health professional prescribed medicines. * Swimwear and cover-up * A minimum of two pairs of underwear (which includes some nice lingerie if you are planning to make it a romantic getaway) * Credit card * One set of light clothing (shorts, T-shirt, etc.)

Remember, this is simply a small list of items. There might be many more things you may want to pack, so consider this list of things to carry on a cruise just as a guidebook to get you thinking!

Increasing Your Airline Miles Easily

By Elijah Bitson

So, you have gone for one of the vast amount of airlines miles credit cards which are presently on the market. You get your balance through the post and take a sneaky peek only to discover that your miles are simply just not being reaped as quickly as you had hoped. This can be a very discouraging scenario particularly when you were promised so much from the credit card companies but thankfully you will find three steps that you could take to ensure that your rewards are being accumulated as quickly as you can.

The reasons behind the popularity of these airlines miles credit cards are simple - free travel! Everyone would love the chance to be able to explore the ends of the earth but remember, these rewards or points have to be paid for somehow. You very rarely get something in life for nothing and the case is the same with these cards - if you don't spend, you just don't get back!

The initial step to maximizing the rewards that you get from your airlines miles credit cards would be to really choose the appropriate type. There are 2 main kinds - one from the airline which offers rewards for the miles that you travel with that airline after which there's one that is handed out by the bank which gives you back points or air miles for the money that you truly spend on the card.

The second step that you should take to ensure that you reap the rewards is to not carry a balance. As a general rule this tends to apply much more to the cards that are provided by the airlines but in all fairness actually relates to most credit cards. If you are going to place purchases on the airlines miles credit cards, ensure that you pay off a lot more than expected monthly. Now this doesn't mean use your card as little as possible because in reality this may not work to enable you to get rewards but just use it as sensibly as you can and always make sure that the balance is repaid.

The third step is one that only really refers to airlines miles credit cards that are supplied by the banks. You receive points or miles for each certain amount of cash that you put onto the credit card so the concept is a straightforward one to grasp - if you don't utilize it, you won't earn points. Most banks will offer special interest rates and a better contract overall to those that manage their cash sensibly so go ahead and put your usual everyday spends on the credit card after which place the cash that you would have spent to one side to enable you to repay the balance in full when the bill falls through your letter box.

The thing with most airlines miles credit cards is that there is no expiration card on the rewards or miles that you have to it doesn't really matter if it takes longer than usual to build up the rewards. There are always things that you can do in order to speed this process up however but it must be remembered that you must be sensible when using credit cards to prevent debt. As long as you use your cards wisely, pay off more than the minimum balance each month and don't overspend to a point where you cannot afford to pay back, you should have no problems with your airlines miles credit cards and you will soon find the rewards nicely building.

Airlines Miles Credit Cards-Increase Your Air Miles Easily

By Elijah Bitson

If you have recently chosen one of the many airlines miles credit cards then there is a good chance that you've found the rewards that you have obtained to be rather disappointing. It may be hard to build up the point's quick enough to be able to utilize them for the free or cheaper flights that you'll require however with these three useful tips and hints; you will find that your rewards and points will soon be shooting for the skies!

Free travel is something that everyone wants. Who would possibly turn down the chance to visit places on the planet they have never been before and explore everything our world provides? The thing is, if you don't spend using your airlines miles credit cards, the rewards just don't build up. In the end, they must be paid for somehow and by someone!

For the most part, the fastest way you could earn your rewards would be to choose the right credit card and this is actually the first step that you need to take. There are two kinds and getting the right benefits back very much is dependent upon choosing the right card. To sum it up as easily as possible, there's one type of card which will enable you to get rewards for the amount of miles that you fly and another that's usually provided by the bank that you will earn rewards from for the amount that you spend on your card.

Moving on to the second step and this is more so the case with the first kind of card that we spoke about, usually provided by the airlines themselves. If you carry a balance for a long period of time, it is possible to lead to it negating the points or miles that you have earned so it is advisable to spend the cash very wisely on the card to guarantee the best results.

Of course moving on to the third step which is for the bank issued card - if you don't use it, you will not earn points. This is a simple statement but one that so many people find it difficult to grasp the concept of. If you don't use the card, you can't earn rewards for every set amount that you employ it for and therefore you will find your balance constantly stays pretty low. You will also find that many banks that issues the airlines miles credit cards will offer better interest rates for individuals that take care of their money so put your day-to-day purchases on the card and then pay it off in full with the money which you were going to have spent anyway!

Most airlines miles credit cards do not have an expiration date for the miles that you have racked up unless you have a trip planned that you wanted to pay for with your rewards, it doesn't typically matter if it takes longer then you may have first thought to start enjoying the rewards. You don't wish to spend excessively so as to grab the freebie points only to find out that you cannot afford to cover back the balance and therefore get yourself into debt! Just make sure that when your bill comes, you pay off just a little bit more than the minimum amount requested to ensure that you aren't just paying off the interest and never spend more than you believe you are going to be able to repay and you'll find that your airlines miles credit cards offers you not problems but more rewards!

Airline Miles Credit Cards: Making An Optimum Use

By Elijah Bitson

Have you recently decided that you would maximize the many benefits offered by the airlines miles credit cards by opening an account with one of them only to discover that whenever your balance came through the post it was not half as good as you anticipated? In that case the chances are you weren't the only person and you might find it challenging to quickly build-up those rewards to enable you to rely on them. Did you know however that there were three simple actions that you can take to try to increase the amount of rewards or miles that you are given?

You can easily realize why more and more people opt for these airlines miles credit cards. The option of having free travel is something that we all wish that we could have but there are several items that can set your traveling back. These reward points or air miles need to be paid for somehow and when you are not spending fast enough, you simply will not get back as much as you wished.

Step number 1 for increasing the air miles that you get from your airlines miles credit cards is to actually pick the right one which may be a tough thing to do for many people. First you must understand that there are two types. The first is provided by the airlines themselves which will generally reward you with points or miles for the amount of miles that you fly with them. The second of the cards is offered by the bank and the way that you earn your rewards with these is by spending money on the credit cards itself.

Step number 2 for ensuring that you make the most of your airlines miles credit cards is to make sure that you do not have a balance and if you do, you pay more than the minimum amount monthly. This applies more to the airlines card rather than the bank offered cards however the savings that you get is going to be minimized should you do not look after your money with the credit card itself. By all means use it, just use it sensibly and pay it off to get the best results.

Step number three and also the final one is a measure for those that make use of the airlines miles credit cards which have been provided to them by the bank rather than the airlines. The whole point of the reward system on these cards is that for each set amount that you spend, you receive some points back. This implies if you don't make use of card at all, you are not going to earn any points and on the other end of the scale, the more you spend with the credit card, the more points and rewards you will get. Why don't you put your usual purchases onto the credit card? If you were planning to pay cash for it in the first place, keep your cash in a safe place until the bill comes after which make use of the cash to pay off the total amount. You earn points and remain in a good place using your credit cards!

One of the biggest benefits that the airlines miles credit cards has to offer is that there is usually not a date in which you have to use the points up. You may want to get in touch with your current credit cards but if this is the case for you then who cares whether it takes you longer than expected in order to build up the points? Just be careful with your card to ensure that you don't get into debt and you'll end up with no problems and a properly built reward system!

A Guide On Using Your Airline Miles Credit Card

By Elijah Bitson

Some airlines offer their customers a little something extra in return for registering for their airline's credit card; you receive a certain number of air miles in exchange for the money you spend on products. Basically, a free air mile is usually given for a certain number of trips made by a passenger over a particular airline. Given that air miles are the name used for the free air travel directed at frequent flying passengers by the airlines they fly on, you end up getting free air travel for spending money on other items.

Lots of people subscribe to these, and then sit back and expect to watch as the miles rack up and their free trips keep coming. However, it just is not that simple. What the following tips can help you with is making the most of your airline miles credit cards.

First, be wary of deals that offer you a free total of air miles at the start, this make gathering more as time go along very hard. Unless of course your purchases are large enough to warrant around 1,000 air miles per transaction, search for deals that offer you a steady rate of increase in your air miles as you go along. These deals will usually offer other substantial benefits also, for instance off-season tickets and affiliate deals with airlines operating close to you.

Sign up with a mileage program. While this may appear like extra work, the advantages far outweigh the momentary inconvenience of searching for the best option for you. A lot of such programs offer extra miles for working with certain hotels, stores and restaurants. Signing up with one of these programs puts you on their mailing list, on which, if you keep your eyes open, you'll find offers that enable you to garner thousands of air miles for almost no cost.

Making the most of your airline miles credit card is just a matter of being sensible and searching to get the best deals around. It's not a science. Travel a lot, book in advance, search for flights that drop you in a major city and enable you to take a flight out from another, and look around.

For a few tenants of apartments in Rio de Janeiro rats are often the other white meat

By Simon Kennedy

First off, I must disclose, the spot that I was residing can't really be identified as an apartment. I'm among those kinds of folks who needs to go so far off the beaten path that I can't find it again. Hotels and Apartments? Not actually my bag. So certainly, when somebody like me goes to travel to Rio de Janeiro I'm prone to face some unique complications. Especially if you go to look at the kind of rentals I viewed. If you are taking unconventional actions, you are almost certainly going to have some unconventional situations, as I discovered.

I'd actually discovered some flats situated in one of the favelas of Rio de Janeiro. This particular favela was located in Copacabana, however it was also very close to Ipanema. While lots of people would probably hunt for hotels or apartments, I actually found this unique item of real estate to be embedded in the culture. Funk parties, loud music, samba, low budget fireworks at all times of the day and night. If this is the holiday you look for, then a favela is for you. If not, chances are you'll contemplate a different plan for your vacation.

After I transferred into my new accommodations, it wasn't long before I discovered I had an unanticipated visitor. Or perhaps you would refer to him as an invader. Though it can be argued as to who was the actual invader. I imagine to this rodent, I had been in truth encroaching on his territory. Possibly he was there long before I appeared. Also, this isn't really something that occurred to me while I'd been seeking flats and rentals in the local slums of Rio de Janeiro. But what can you do?

One could possibly inquire, what's it like living with a rat? Well, most of us have had that friend who is "that guy." You recognize the type. The ones who make noise when you're trying to sleep. They eat your food and don't tidy up their messes. Though I need to disclose, in comparison with other roommates in other apartments I have stayed in, this rodent was quite polite. But then again, the bar has been set low, very low.

Quite possibly next time I'll consent to the strategy of staying in hotels. However for the money, there's no way I would have gotten anywhere as close to Copacabana or Ipanema beach had I not relocated into some accommodations that could agree to my furry four legged friend with a tail.

Tips to find apartments in Rio de Janeiro upscale Favela's

By Daniel Bellows

If you're aiming to learn more about high quality apartments in Rio de Janeiro. If you are interested in hearing about which hotels have hosted famous people. Or if you're only wishing for that sea front view from a penthouse along the beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema, this article certainly isn't for you.

This article ought to be prefaced by making the proclamation that its author is in fact broke beyond measure. More accurately, if you're only considering flats and rentals or other accommodations in Rio de Janeiro, well that perhaps means that you're middle class and working on some kind of budget. Quite regrettably, this would indicate the fact that this article is possibly also not for you.

This is for the poor bastards that are holding onto everyday life by their fingernails. The hobo that just chooses to roam and travel about randomly. It's for the broke S.O.B. who is on a permanent vacation. Copacabana and Ipanema, is that where you desire to be? Why do this when you can encounter Brazil using a different lens? Oh who am I kidding, if this article pertains to you it's because you don't have any other alternative. You've perhaps fallen victim to the financial crisis, or at the very least you're utilizing it as an cop out. But at the very least, the question remains to be. How do you slum it in Rio de Janeiro?

The majority of flats and rentals are likely to be unrealistic. Hotels and apartments? Forget about it. Not in this lifetime. You're going to have to become more imaginative than that to find the ideal broke bastard hideaway. It helps to speak the local language, but at the end of the day, you simply must find friends in low places. But you additionally need to enjoy hiking. See in Brazil, some things are in reverse. The poor dwell in the hills and the rich have a home in the valleys. But no worries, there are plenty of motorcycle taxi's available to get you up the hill as well as shorten your lifespan.

So to uncover accommodations, one good place to start is funk parties in the heart of the locale favelas, the slums of Brazil and the most interesting pieces of real estate. You likely aren't going to find any hotels here and it's not for the average person but most probably you'll be able to uncover someone, who knows someone that has an aunt who may have a cousin, who has got a closet with a mattress in one of their seedy apartments that you could possibly refer to as your new residence. It won't exactly be a holiday, but it's at least a short term, cramped and leaky room.

Your search of the perfect flats and apartments mustn't be taken lightly. This will be your lens for viewing paradise. Don't expect your hunt for the optimal accommodations to be so simple, but if you put the time in, it should be worth the trouble.

Congratulations, you have made your escape. Appreciate it my friend. You are now the envy of everyone who is chained and stuck. We all can now live vicariously through your experiences. So be sure and reap the benefits of what your new life will be. Do it for us.

Long Haul Flights: How To Stay Comfortable

By Paul Partridge

If you are going to be taking a long haul flight soon then one important thing that you will want to ensure is that you stay comfortable on this flight. There is a lot you can do to make long flights less of a chore and here are a few pieces of advice for how you can do just that.

- Don't take too much hand luggage with you and try and store everything but the essentials in the overhead locker. By stuffing a big bag under the seat in front of you, you are not going to be leaving much room for your feet and this can make the entire flight very uncomfortable. Unless you are travelling business class you are going to have limited room so make the best use of it; give yourself room to relax.

- These days you can usually book your seat in advance online and this is a very good thing to do. If you can get a seat near the exit then you will have more room but these seats tend to go quite quickly so you will have to get in fast.

- Invest in a travel pillow as these make it a lot easier to get comfortable on an airplane. There are many people who simply cannot sleep on a plane unless they have a neck pillow.

- You may want to take a book or a magazine with you to read on the plane or an electronic device instead. Most long haul flights have some form of in-flight entertainment but not always. It is nice to have your own entertainment just in case.

- Have a freshen up on the plane in the toilet. You will feel much better if you get a chance to brush your teeth and comb your hair before you land.

- You could end up feeling very dehydrated if you drink too much alcohol or coffee during the flight so it might be better to avoid these drinks.
