A Shopping Guide For The Petite Woman

All you girls 5' 4" and under, fight for your right for high quality fashionable clothes! Many petite women find it difficult to find properly fitting quality clothes. Designers however soon realized that there are a lot of petite women out there and are quick to rectify the situation.

Fashion for a change now also focuses on the shorter women's styles. Fashion is about confidence. If you feel great in an outfit, others can't help but feel your vibes.

Gone are the days when small women have to rummage for clothes that would make them look at least respectable. All that however has changed. They can have a field day making the rounds of stores literary awash with clothes especially designed for them.

Contrary to what some may believe, it is not difficult for a petite woman to wear clothes that will make her look slimmer and taller, provided she knows how.

Bold and large patterns do not become a small woman. Print designs should conform to your size. Smaller frames deserve smaller prints.

Avoid styles that draw the eye to the waist or hip area. You will look rounder and thus smaller.

Avoid too much jewelry. You will appear heavily leaden and smaller with too much jewelry.

Wear light weight material when layering. A multi-layered dress will amplify your girth.

Avoid wearing contrasting colors such as black skirt and white top when wearing separates. Wear the same color from head to toe to create a continuous flow. An outfit of one color scheme will give the illusion of height.

If wearing boots, make sure the hem of your skirt is long enough to cover the boots. The reason is that the boots merging with the skirt will make you look more symmetrical.

You don't want to wear flat shoes nor below the knee skirts if you are below average height. You will appear even more stout if you have a below the knee skirt on.

If you are short, you have no choice but to wear heeled shoes. High-heeled shoes guarantees that your legs will look longer and leaner. Short women are getting fair treatment with women's wear stores devoting sections filled with pants, skirts and all kinds of dresses for women their size. Who says that the male breed will stare only at statuesque girls?
