The kiosk is normally activated by a touchscreen. The kiosk requires you put in a confirmation number or credit card number to access your flight information. Once you put in the number, you should see your name and begin checking-in. The touchscreen will ask a question regarding a boarding pass. If you need a boarding pass, you will hit yes, and the pass will print right out. The next question will be if you have bags to check.

You need to check what the fees for baggage will be in advance, you do not want to be shocked, once you get to the airport. You are allowed one carry-on if you decide to put luggage on the plane. You may want to weigh your bags before you leave home. Some key things to remember when making a luggage purchase are, get something that is lightweight and that fits within the required height.

There are many rules regarding restrictions and items that are prohibited on airplanes. There are many items that are not permitted in carry-ons, such as, knives, box cutters and scissors over four inches. Certain sporting goods, for example, golf clubs and baseball bats, are not permitted. Guns and other firearms are permissible in checked luggage, if the person has the proper permits.

There are several security checkpoints at the airport. There is a rule regarding liquids that can be carried on the plane. The rule is called the 3-1-1 rule, which allows passengers to carry a liquid or gel in 3 ounces or less. The items allowed are, hair products, lotion and toothpaste. The items are to be in quart size, clear, bag. The limit is one bag per passenger. You should keep the bag at the top of your carry on for easy inspection.

All carry-on baggage, has to be scanned. All laptops, cameras and other electronics, need to be taken out of their case and placed in a bin. Jacket, coats, and shoes are to be removed and placed in a bin. All checked luggage is subject to a separate screening process. All passengers have to be scanned. Each individual has to go through metal detection. It is necessary to remove metal objects, such as jewelry, coins and belts and place in bin. If you set an alarm off during the time you are scanned, you will be screened further, either by a wand or pat down.

Remember to arrive at the airport, at least 2 hours in advance, for any unexpected situation that can occur. If you are patient, your travel should not be as stressful. Keep all the checkpoint rules in mind, as you pack your luggage. Always remember to have proper identification for everybody in your party.
