Terminals were also being used as satellite buildings which are used by underground tunnels from the ticketing place, and in 1981 a $700 million growth of LAX was undertaken to prepare for the 1984 Olympics that included the construction of two new terminals for the airport along with the state-of-the-art Tom Bradley terminal. Currently, LAX has nine passenger terminals which are arranged in a horseshoe shape and functioned by a passenger bus.
