Advice On How To Pack For Air Travel

By Musa Aykac

It is highly likely that you will have to take luggage with you if you are taking a trip somewhere. But throwing items into a suitcase is not the best way to go about packing as it could mean that you forget essential items and you take things with you that you are never going to need. You will find that it is worth putting in the effort when packing for a trip because it will make it much easier for you when you have your luggage right.

When it comes to packing for an air trip, the following tips should help.

- It is important to know the baggage weight restrictions for the airline you are travelling with. Going over your baggage allowance can often mean that the airline will charge you per kilo over and this can be very expensive. Weighing your bags before you get to the airport to make sure you are within your baggage allowance is a good idea. If you take too many books with you on holiday it can add quite a bit to your bag's weight; either don't take so many or invest in an eBook reader which can hold hundreds of books.

- Think carefully about the number of outfits you are taking; don't just dump your whole wardrobe into the suitcase. If the cost of living in your destination is very low then you could always buy clothes when you get there. Most people normally take more than they need when it comes to clothing so take the bare minimum.

- Think about every item you are putting into your suitcase to see if you really need to take it with you be ruthless.

- Your hand luggage should be easy to carry around and put into the overhead locker in the plane. There are too many people who think they should stuff as much as they can into their hand luggage.
